Ryan Garcia’s disastrous WWE RAW appearance isn’t just getting hammered on YouTube anymore. Fans are now pointing to it as one of the biggest reasons the July 27 episode has become one of the lowest-rated editions of Monday Night RAW in Cagematch history.
After the show was already blasted across social media and the official YouTube upload of Ryan Garcia’s debut racked up more dislikes than likes, the backlash has now spilled over to Cagematch, where the episode has crashed to a 2.85—making it one of the lowest-rated editions of Monday Night RAW in the site’s history.
Scroll through the reviews and one segment keeps coming up over and over again: Ryan Garcia’s concert interruption with Joe Hendry and Danhausen. One fan said Garcia’s appearance was enough to completely tank the episode.
“The Joe Hendry and Danhausen concert with Ryan Garcia coming out drops this entire show to a zero for me. The time has come where Danhausen has now become overexposed and feels shoved down our throats. Oh, you want to see Carmelo Hayes, Ilja Dragunov, Johnny Gargano, Fraxiom, Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, Bron Breakker, or Rey Fenix get a push? Sorry, we’re too busy doing Joe Hendry/Danhausen concerts and reminding you that Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were in the Shield.”
That wasn’t even close to the harshest reaction. Another reviewer admitted they were embarrassed to call themselves a WWE fan after watching the show, singled out Garcia by name and argued that even one of the night’s better matches couldn’t rescue the episode.
“Omg, my head hurts. I can’t. I can’t understand why this show is so bad. If I were watching this show with my friends I’d be embarrassed that they knew I was a fan. I can’t be a fan of this though. Ryan Garcia can suck my ass. Ethan Page and Rey had a really good match, but that doesn’t save it. The company is lost and I grew up in the New Generation era. That was better. Miss it twice.”
The criticism is also starting to paint a much bigger picture than one bad celebrity cameo. While Garcia has become the face of the backlash, many reviewers argued the entire episode felt directionless, with the concert segment becoming the moment that pushed an already struggling show over the edge.
That’s a dramatic shift from what WWE was likely hoping for. Garcia was brought in as a celebrity attraction to help build momentum heading into SummerSlam. Instead, his appearance has become one of the defining reasons fans are giving the show one of the worst ratings RAW has ever received on Cagematch.
One bad YouTube ratio can be brushed aside. One angry review can too. But when the official upload gets hammered, the reviews pile up and the show ends up with one of the lowest Cagematch scores RAW has ever seen, it’s hard to call it anything other than a night WWE would probably rather forget.
