The NXT Heritage Cup is officially dead. After months of uncertainty, WWE has removed the Heritage Cup from its list of active championships, bringing an apparent end to the title’s run in the company.

The last recognized holder was Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, but fans haven’t seen the cup since Tony D’Angelo threw it off a bridge during their rivalry at the Great American Bash last year.

Even after that angle, Stacks remained listed as the Heritage Cup holder on WWE’s official roster page. That quietly changed today when WWE removed the championship entirely from its current title listings.

The Heritage Cup was first introduced in NXT UK in 2020, with A-Kid, now known as Axiom, becoming the inaugural holder after defeating Trent Seven.

When NXT UK was shut down, the trophy moved to NXT in the United States and remained part of the brand for several years. Noam Dar ended up becoming the most successful Heritage Cup holder in history with four reigns.

While the title had already disappeared from WWE television, this is the first clear sign that WWE has officially retired the championship.
