Elio LeFleur has been sitting on the sidelines for months, but his wait to get back in the ring is officially over. After surgery and a long recovery, the former WWE Speed Champion finally got to do something he hadn’t been able to do since March.

Before the October 27 episode of WWE NXT went live from the Performance Center, LeFleur made his in-ring return during one of the night’s dark matches. It marked LeFleur’s first match since suffering the injury that completely derailed his momentum earlier this year. After getting through the match, LeFleur jumped on Twitter and made his status pretty damn clear with one word.

“Cleared.”

That’s a huge change from where things stood back in March. LeFleur suffered the injury during an NXT live event in Lakeland and was subsequently written off television with a backstage attack. He was also pulled from a #1 contender’s tag team tournament before announcing that he would be sidelined for approximately six months.

The injury also forced LeFleur to give up the WWE Speed Championship right when his run was starting to pick up steam. On April 7, LeFleur underwent surgery and quickly let fans know that everything had gone according to plan.

There’s no word yet on when WWE plans to put LeFleur back on NXT television, but that’s really the only question left now. He’s healthy enough to wrestle again, he’s already tested himself in front of a crowd, and the comeback he’s been working toward since April is finally underway.

What do you want to see WWE do with this star now that he’s officially cleared to compete again? Let us know what you think in the comments.
