WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2026 didn’t sit well with everyone, and apparently, some people who were there believe one match ruined the entire show.

The October 31 event took place at the WWE Performance Center and featured a show-long storyline involving NARAKU and Shiloh Hill. While WWE devoted a significant amount of time to the rivalry, the reaction from some people in attendance wasn’t exactly positive.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed CMLL’s recent Halloween events and compared them to WWE’s Halloween Havoc. He felt CMLL’s shows were better, and then revealed that he had heard similar criticism of NXT’s event from people who were there.

“It’s a diff. It’s different. I mean better. Because there’s nothing as stupid as a Naraku Shiloh Hill thing, which ruined that entire show, by the way. I heard from some people there and it was interesting, their comments to me because it was like their basic comment was that, yeah, Narako and Shiloh Hill ruined the entire show. That’s what happened.”

That’s a pretty harsh assessment, especially considering how much time WWE dedicated to the NARAKU and Shiloh Hill storyline throughout Halloween Havoc.

Meltzer didn’t identify the people who shared those opinions with him, but he made it clear that the criticism wasn’t limited to his own reaction. According to what he heard, the match and its presentation were enough to leave some people feeling that the entire event had been hurt.

WWE clearly wanted the NARAKU and Shiloh Hill story to be a major part of Halloween Havoc, but it appears the execution didn’t work for everyone. Whether the company takes that criticism into consideration remains to be seen, especially with NXT continuing to experiment with different characters and storylines.

What did you think about NARAKU and Shiloh Hill at WWE NXT Halloween Havoc? Did their storyline hurt the show, or do you think the criticism is unfair? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
