WWE may be shaking things up on SmackDown again — and this time, it’s not just about new faces, but a subtle refresh to the show itself.
After speculation around NXT call-ups picked up following Jacy Jayne’s emotional moment at NXT Revenge, a new report now connects her directly to potential main roster plans — specifically WWE SmackDown. According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select on April 23, 2026, WWE is currently discussing a presentation update for SmackDown, alongside possible roster additions.
"Smackdown could be getting a refresh. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports there is a bit of a presentation update on WWE Smackdown being discussed."
The report points to multiple names being considered for the brand, with Jacy Jayne specifically mentioned as someone who could be brought into the mix.
"A number of names have been discussed for a roster, including Jacy Jayne and Rey Mysterio possibly appearing on the brand."
Jayne’s emotional reaction after losing her NXT Women’s Championship rematch to Lola Vice — including crying in the ring and blowing kisses to the crowd — had already sparked talk that she might be wrapping up her run on the brand. At the same time, WWE doesn’t appear to be overhauling SmackDown completely. Instead, the changes being discussed are more of a refresh than a full reset.
"The WWE SmackDown theme song, set design and logo are expected to remain unchanged."
That shows WWE is looking to tweak the overall feel of the show while keeping its current identity intact — potentially pairing those subtle changes with new talent additions to keep things moving forward.
With changes being discussed behind the scenes, SmackDown could be heading toward a subtle refresh rather than a full overhaul — meaning tweaks to the overall presentation may come into play while keeping its core identity intact.
