WWE Clash in Italy goes down today, but the card fans are getting was not the original plan.

According to Fightful Select, WWE made several creative changes in the weeks after WrestleMania 42, and the early version of Clash in Italy looked much different from the final lineup. However, the report did not specify exactly what those original plans were or which matches were changed.

“Creative was changed for a number of wrestlers in the weeks after WrestleMania, and we’re told that the original ideas for this card looked pretty different from what it is now.”

That means WWE had a different show in mind before shifting things around on the road to Italy. WrestleMania 42 already had multiple changes due to injuries and other factors, and it looks like those shakeups continued after the show.

Even with the changes, WWE still ended up with a loaded card for Turin. Roman Reigns is defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in Tribal Combat, Cody Rhodes is putting the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against GUNTHER, and Rhea Ripley is defending her title against Jade Cargill.

Becky Lynch is also set to defend the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Sol Ruca, while Brock Lesnar faces Oba Femi in another major singles match.

The full WWE Clash in Italy card is:

  • Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu in Tribal Combat for the World Heavyweight Championship
  • Cody Rhodes vs. GUNTHER for the Undisputed WWE Championship
  • Rhea Ripley vs. Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship
  • Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship
  • Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi

WWE may not be running the show it first had in mind, but the final card still has plenty of star power. The big mystery is what actually got changed, since the report did not name the original matches or explain which wrestlers had their creative plans shifted.

Do you think WWE ended up with the right Clash in Italy card, or would you rather know what the original plans were? Let us know in the comments below.
