Anyone fantasy booking Bayley for AEW All In might want to pump the brakes. Despite all those suspicious teases with Mercedes Moné, people inside AEW don’t expect Bayley to be there—and they’re apparently just as confused by the whole thing as everyone else.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez addressed the growing speculation surrounding Bayley and revealed that the belief among people he’s spoken with in AEW is that her WWE deal may actually have considerably more time remaining than people realize.
“I can tell you, at least among those in AEW, first off, everyone I talked to is also baffled by this thing.”
That’s because Bayley may not even be available until next year. Then came the part that kills the biggest theory surrounding Bayley right now.
“The belief is her deal is not up for a while, maybe as long as January, and that is if they don’t add any time. Long story short, she won’t be at All In.”
That’s particularly interesting considering Bayley has spent the past few days giving wrestling fans plenty of reasons to look in AEW’s direction. On August 9, Bayley uploaded training footage featuring several wrestlers, including Mercedes Moné, and captioned it: “all or nothing, baby.”
She also used a song called “All In.” With All In and Double or Nothing being two of AEW’s biggest events, fans immediately started connecting dots—especially with Bayley currently absent from WWE television. Apparently, people in AEW noticed too.
“So I don’t know why she and Mercedes are teasing a match at All In. It ain’t gonna happen.”
The timing gets even stranger after Dave Meltzer recently reported that Bayley still hasn’t signed a new WWE contract and has a decision to make. Lyra Valkyria also left her lying at Madison Square Garden before declaring on RAW that she had “run Bayley out of here,” giving WWE an easy way to bring her back or leave things exactly where they are.
For now, though, Bayley and Mercedes have managed to get everyone talking without actually promising anything.
“All or nothing.” “All In.” Training with Mercedes. It certainly looked like Bayley was leaving breadcrumbs toward AEW, but now the people inside the company are reportedly scratching their heads too. If Bayley and Mercedes are trolling everyone, it’s working beautifully. If they’re teasing something real, All In apparently isn’t it.
What do you think Bayley and Mercedes Moné are really teasing? Let us know in the comments.
