Will Ospreay isn’t treating the AEW World Championship like just another belt on the résumé. He says carrying the company’s top title comes with a responsibility he takes very seriously.

Ospreay spoke about that responsibility during his interview with WPRK 91.5 FM, where he reflected on the state of the AEW locker room after several difficult months. Ospreay said he is proud of how the roster has handled everything thrown at them and how people have continued to come together through it.

“The locker room I’m so proud of, especially with all the adversities we’ve gone through in the last, like, three months, let alone, like, the entire time that we’ve been around.”

For Ospreay, that makes his current spot at the top of AEW mean even more. He said simply being part of the team is important to him, but carrying the AEW World Championship adds another level of pressure.

“To be a part of this team means the world to me and to be the world champion, I take that responsibility so seriously.”

Ospreay also made it clear that he wants the company’s biggest shows to deliver for the people watching, especially with WrestleDream on deck.

“I hope that everybody enjoys what we put out Saturday.”

Ospreay has never been shy about how much wrestling means to him, but this one goes beyond putting on great matches. He sees himself as one of the faces responsible for carrying AEW through a rough stretch, and he clearly understands what comes with having the world title around his waist.

What do you think about Will Ospreay’s comments on the responsibility that comes with being AEW World Champion? Do you think he has handled the role well so far? Let us know in the comments.
