While speaking during the AEW All Out post-show media scrum, Ospreay addressed the scheduling head-on and pointed to the crowd that packed the NOW Arena as proof that fans made the right call.
“People did have a choice, and everyone that came to this show tonight chose the right company because we deliver the best pay-per-views and the best pro wrestling.”
Will Ospreay didn’t stop there. He turned his attention to any promotion looking to go head-to-head with AEW, delivering one of the most fired-up quotes of the night.
“Anytime anyone wants to come step up to us, here’s the reality: we’re gonna knock you down two f****** levels. We’re the best f****** wrestling company in the world. Do not f****** step to us again.”
The comments come after weeks of discussion surrounding WWE’s decision to stage Worlds Collide in the Chicago area during All Out weekend. Backstage reports had already suggested WWE plans to continue running events opposite AEW pay-per-views in the future, with the format and broadcast strategy potentially changing depending on how this weekend performed.
Ospreay, though, clearly wasn’t interested in the business strategy behind it. From his perspective, the only thing that mattered was the crowd inside the building and the show AEW delivered. Judging by his reaction after All Out, he believes the company answered WWE’s challenge in the ring.
