Will Ospreay got the biggest win of his career at AEW All In 2026, but the road to Wembley Stadium was anything but easy. After defeating Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship, Ospreay admitted he put himself under serious pressure to deliver.
Speaking during the All In post-show media scrum, Ospreay said the past few days had been “very stressful” because he knew how much the moment meant.
“Honestly, very stressful. Because I’ve put so much pressure on myself to get to this moment. Of course, the main mission when I first started wrestling was I wanted to be a World Champion. But you could never dream this scenario or this situation.”
Ospreay then pointed out that plenty of great British wrestlers came before him, but none captured a major world championship on home soil. He thought back to working for promotions such as Southside, PROGRESS and RevPro before reaching Wembley.
“I’ve grown up watching so many amazing British wrestlers throughout my time and not one of them ever won, like, a major championship on home soil. I think about all the times I would do gigs like Southside and Progress and RevPro, so many indies up and down the country.”
Money was never the driving force for Ospreay. He said he wrestled because he loved it and never expected to become the man who brought a world championship home to England.
“I always thought, this genuinely makes me happy, being in the ring, getting to perform. I never really did it for money. I just did it because I love doing it. I never imagined when I started doing this that I would even be considered to be the guy that brings a World Championship home to his home country.”
After representing British wrestling at Korakuen Hall, the Tokyo Dome and Madison Square Garden, Ospreay finally got his defining moment inside the United Kingdom’s most famous stadium.
“I’ve been so lucky to fly the flag in Korakuen Hall, in Tokyo Dome, in Madison Square Garden. I’ve always called myself a British wrestler. I am British, in my opinion. It’s just truly, like, a mind-blowing experience.”
Ospreay closed by calling Omega the greatest wrestler of their generation and the AEW World Championship the biggest prize in the business.
“I got to share the ring with the greatest wrestler of our generation in the most iconic stadium in the UK. I brought home the most important prize in pro wrestling. It means the world.”
The pressure nearly overwhelmed Ospreay, but he still delivered when it counted. He beat Omega at Wembley and walked away with the championship he spent his entire career chasing.
