TNA hasn’t run a major tour in the UK or Europe for years, but according to Nic Nemeth, the company got a lot closer to returning than fans ever realized.
While speaking with Sports Matters TV, the TNA World Champion was asked about the possibility of the company heading back overseas. Instead of giving the usual “I’d love to wrestle there” answer, Nemeth made it sound like it’s something that’s already been discussed behind the scenes. He said the overseas fanbase has always been one of TNA’s biggest strengths and believes it’s time the company rewarded those fans.
“This is not something like, ‘Oh yeah, of course. We’re right here in City X that I love more than all the other cities that I’ve ever been to.’ This is, like, real-life stuff to where we know the overseas fan base is rabid and the lifeblood of so many aspects, especially when it comes to TNA.”
Nemeth also revealed something fans probably didn’t know. According to him, TNA was actually close to making an overseas return about a year and a half ago. The plans ultimately fell apart, but he made it clear the issue wasn’t a lack of interest.
“We almost got to a point maybe a year and a half ago and it didn’t work out timing-wise.”
That experience has left him feeling optimistic about the future. Nemeth said he believes there’s a real chance TNA finally makes it back overseas in 2027 and hinted that the company could have something significant in the works.
“I think we got a great shot to make something really big happen overseas next year.”
He also hopes it doesn’t stop at one event. Rather than flying over for a single show and heading home, Nemeth would like to see TNA use one successful event as the foundation for a much bigger return to international touring.
“I would love not just one big show. Maybe we do one big show to show TNA what we can do, and then we make it a tour maybe six months later or the next year. We got to do it.”
TNA’s international fans have been waiting a long time for the company to come back. If Nemeth’s optimism turns into reality, 2027 could finally be the year that wait comes to an end—and perhaps mark the beginning of regular overseas tours once again.
