Drew McIntyre has been keeping pretty damn busy outside WWE, but anyone wondering whether Hollywood could steal him away from wrestling can relax. McIntyre says WWE is still home — he’s just not ready to come back quite yet.

Speaking with CNN-News18, McIntyre addressed whether he plans to continue pursuing acting after getting involved with projects including Hex, Highlander and Agent of Shadows. According to Drew, he isn’t actively chasing Hollywood roles like some wrestlers have done because the opportunities have been coming to him instead.

“I mean, again, I’m not chasing it. I know a few of our guys are chasing it. I think Drew McIntyre would say, Drew McIntyre didn’t come to Hollywood. Hollywood came to Drew, and we’re taking it as it comes.”

More importantly for WWE fans, McIntyre made it clear that his wrestling career isn’t finished. He thanked Nick Khan and Triple H for allowing him to explore opportunities outside the company while confirming that he intends to return.

“I will be back to WWE. You know, WWE’s my home, and I appreciate Nick Khan, Triple H, you know, letting me go out and explore this world. Hopefully it’s beneficial to both worlds. But when the time is right, Hollywood Drew will be back. But the time’s not right quite yet.”

That last line is especially interesting considering how much McIntyre has been teasing his eventual comeback lately. He recently uploaded another training video showing himself moving at a noticeably quicker pace and breaking out shoulder tackles and big boots, simply captioning the footage:

“Complete control.”

That followed another training session where the 285-pound McIntyre climbed to the top rope and busted out a flying arm drag before popping back up and yelling “Olé!” He previously told Chris Van Vliet that his cardio and agility are currently the best they’ve been in at least 12 years.

“I’ve been working real hard in a way that my cardio and agility is, I’d say my whole life, but really for sure the past 12 years, is right now the best I’ve been. Like I feel great agility-wise. Bigger than I’ve ever been. I’m moving better than I have.”

McIntyre hasn’t wrestled for WWE since WrestleMania 42, and there’s still no date attached to his comeback. For now, he seems perfectly happy balancing acting opportunities with getting himself into ridiculous shape, and WWE will have to wait until “Hollywood Drew” decides the time is finally right.

When do you think Drew McIntyre should make his WWE return after admitting he isn’t ready to come back just yet? Let us know what you think in the comments.
