The Mick Foley series isn’t ready to start filming just yet, but it’s definitely not dead. Months after confirming he’d been cast to play the WWE Hall of Famer, Paul Walter Hauser has shared where the project currently stands—and it sounds like things are still moving in the right direction.
While appearing on Not Sam Wrestling, Hauser was asked for an update on both the Mick Foley and Chris Farley projects he’s attached to. His answer made it clear which one currently has the momentum.
“Yeah, Mick Foley’s further along than Farley. We don’t have a script. Mick Foley, just… we’re assembling the team and it feels more real right now.”
Although the project still doesn’t have a completed script, Hauser sounded optimistic about its progress. Later in the conversation, Hauser returned to the subject and made it clear the goal is to keep pushing the project forward.
“But yeah, that’s on pause. So the Mick Foley thing, we’re trying to move those chains.”
That’s an encouraging update compared to where things stood earlier this year. Back in February, Hauser confirmed he’d been cast as Foley in a planned limited series, revealing the project would focus on Mick Foley’s life rather than just one of his wrestling personas. At the time, he also said he wanted to capture Foley’s humor, intelligence and personality, not just his in-ring career.
The series still hasn’t been picked up by a network or streaming service, and there’s no timeline for production yet. Even so, Hauser’s latest comments suggest the project continues to gain traction behind the scenes instead of sitting in development limbo.
