Violent J feels something big is happening with Juggalo Championship Wrestling, and after 25 years with the promotion, he believes JCW may finally be moving toward television.
During a conversation with Chris Jericho on the Talk Is Jericho podcast, Violent J opened up about the current atmosphere inside JCW and the company’s growth over the past couple of years.
The discussion came while Violent J was talking about Vince Russo’s impact on the promotion. He praised Russo for shaking up the roster and giving different wrestlers opportunities, but he also made it clear there is a much bigger feeling inside the company right now. Violent J said he has never seen a JCW roster this energized during the promotion’s entire 25-year history.
“In 25 years, we’ve never had a roster like we have. You can feel the floor rumbling in that dressing room. Everybody feels like this is going to pop. This is going to hit TV. This is going to get a deal somewhere. This is going to become really big.”
Violent J said the feeling isn’t just coming from him. According to the ICP member, there is an energy throughout the locker room that people involved with JCW believe the promotion is getting closer to breaking through.
“You can feel it. It’s like an energy in the air. We can feel this thing is rumbling, and it’s growing all the time.”
That growth has also kept Violent J personally invested in putting money back into JCW. He joked that the company makes it very easy for him to keep spending because he constantly wants to see how far they can take it.
“That’s the coolest thing about JCW. It’s so easy to keep blowing every dime I’ve ever made because it’s constantly growing. You want to see how far it’s going to grow.”
Violent J added that things would be much different if JCW had stopped progressing. Instead, he believes the promotion keeps finding new opportunities and becoming stronger with each passing month. He also gave Vince Russo a lot of credit for helping JCW reach this point.
“If it was just stagnant, it would be depressing. But we keep opening new doors, and every month that goes by, the company is bigger and better in some way. As the months go by, it’s becoming bigger and better and more impressive.”
“And Vince Russo was a major part of that, brother.”
JCW already has its weekly Lunacy show on YouTube, but Violent J has made it clear that television remains a major goal for the promotion. After 25 years of doing things largely on its own terms, he now believes the current roster and momentum could finally take JCW to another level.
