Russo says that he’s not even sure if he would have accepted an invitation to attend RAW25 because it would have been a very uneasy environment for him backstage, surrounded by people like Eric Bischoff and Bruce Prichard who he has no motivation to be around anymore. He does admit that he always tries to do the right thing, and if WWE invited him he probably would have had to accept the invitation since it would have been the right thing to do.

Russo says he tries to put people over as much as possible because he knows that makes people feel good and appreciated. He expects other people to react the same way he does – doing the right thing and helping to uplift others. Unfortunately, with WWE it’s always about them and they rarely make their employees feel appreciated.

He admits that this toxic environment resulted in him having heat with some of the higher-ups in WWE that still lasts even to this day. He had carried around that baggage for many years and he hasn’t been able to let it go. He points out that we all carry around baggage, and there’s at least one part of all of us that’s still living in the past and can’t let something go.
