Over the weekend he tweeted out a video of an NXT match where a performer (who he didn’t even know, let alone mention by name) was doing a dangerous move. He was outspoken about urging these kids to stop taking unnecessary risks but then WWE Producer, Fit Finley responded to his tweet, attacking Russo and questioning his relevancy.
Russo was caught off guard by Finley’s comments and tweeted back at Finley, asking why he was attacked simply for having a differing opinion. Russo says that he doesn’t take these stances against dangerous moves because he’s bitter, he does it because he cares about the performers and he doesn’t want to see any of them get injured.
He mentions that there are ways that performers can get similar reactions from fans without taking half the risks, but for some reason today’s generation of Superstars are determined to kill themselves in the ring in the hopes of getting a “This is Awesome!” chant.
Vito agrees with Russo in saying that Finley’s comments were uncalled for, and he doesn’t think there’s any need for name calling just because two people have different opinions on a certain subject.
