The TBS Championship Survival Of The Fittest field got two more names on AEW Dynamite this week.
During the June 24 episode, Harley Cameron pulled off a major upset when she defeated Marina Shafir in a qualifying match. Cameron came in as the underdog, but she found a way to survive Shafir’s offense and steal the win. The finish came when Shafir tried to lock in Mother’s Milk. Cameron reversed the submission attempt into a backslide pin and scored the victory.
That win punched Cameron’s ticket to the TBS Championship Survival Of The Fittest match on July 1. It also added another surprise name to a field that is getting more crowded fast.
Later in the show, Queen Aminata also earned her spot by defeating Red Velvet. Aminata picked up the win after hitting Red Velvet with a vicious blow to the face on the ropes. With those two wins, Cameron and Aminata now join Hikaru Shida, Persephone, and Kris Statlander in the Survival Of The Fittest match. That leaves only one name left to be added to the field.
AEW is clearly stacking the deck for the July 1 match, and now Harley Cameron and Queen Aminata both have a chance to walk out with a shot at the TBS Championship.
