Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Despite contract-expiration chatter making the rounds online, both AEW originals still have years left on their current deals.
The confusion started after contract information began circulating without the proper context, leading some aggregation accounts to suggest a number of AEW deals were coming up in 2027. Among the names that appeared to be closer to the end of their contracts were Sabian and Ford, but that apparently isn’t the situation at all.
Fightful Select was told by AEW sources that neither Sabian nor Ford is nearing free agency. The indication is that the couple quietly re-signed with AEW at some point, and both now have multiple years remaining on their contracts.
That means any idea of Sabian or Ford hitting the open market in the immediate future can pretty much be thrown out the window. Whatever new agreements were reached happened without much noise, but AEW has apparently locked both of them down for the long haul.
Sabian and Ford have been part of AEW since the company’s earliest days and have now spent more than seven years under the promotion’s banner. Both appeared during AEW’s first year of operation and have remained part of the roster through plenty of changes behind the scenes.
So while contract expiration talk can get messy fast, this one seems pretty simple. Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford are still under AEW deals, those contracts have plenty of runway left, and neither appears to be packing their bags anytime soon.
