WWE’s growing number of ads has become a major talking point, and now O’Shea Jackson Jr. says he brought the issue directly to Paul Levesque.
While speaking to Ariel Helwani, O’Shea Jackson Jr. revealed that he recently spoke with Triple H after appearing on Stephanie McMahon’s podcast. During that conversation, he told WWE’s Chief Content Officer that the current volume of advertising is making the product difficult to watch.
“I went to do Stephanie McMahon’s podcast, and afterwards Triple H came down and we were talking. I brought up my transgressions, and I was like, ‘Dude, the ads are crazy. It’s almost unwatchable.’”
That blunt comment echoed what many fans have said since WrestleMania 42, where several matches were kept short while sponsored segments and branded integrations became more noticeable throughout the broadcast.
According to Jackson, Triple H and WWE are aware of the criticism and are actively trying to improve how advertisements are incorporated into the shows.
“They said they know... they’re working on the placement of them.”
That suggests WWE is not ignoring the complaints. While the company continues to generate record revenue, the increase in advertising has become a recurring concern for both viewers and talent.
Sean Ross Sapp previously reported on The Hump that some WWE wrestlers are also frustrated with shorter match times and the expanding presence of ads, even as they acknowledge that the current business climate is the most lucrative in wrestling history.
Jackson’s comments now add a fan perspective from someone with direct access to WWE leadership. His message to Triple H was simple: the ads have become overwhelming, and WWE knows adjustments need to be made.
What do you think about O’Shea Jackson Jr. telling Triple H that WWE programming is “almost unwatchable” because of the ads? Do you think WWE needs to scale back its advertising? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback in the comments.
