Trick Williams’ flashy entrance coat didn’t become part of his presentation by accident — it became his signature look after repeated reminders from WWE leadership, including Triple H.

While speaking on Nightcap, Trick Williams explained how his wardrobe choice slowly evolved into a major part of his brand after WWE executives kept questioning why he stopped wearing the coat that first caught their attention. He recalled the moment clearly, explaining that it started during his early days after arriving on SmackDown.

“My first week on SmackDown… I had this white coat… I cut off Sami Zayn in the promo… the crowd was chanting ‘Whip That Trick’… then I came out the next week and I had something totally different on. Then Triple H come to me… said, ‘Where your coat?’ Bruce Prichard come to me… ‘Where's your coat?’ Michael Hayes… ‘Where your coat?’ And Triple H said, ‘I ain't never seen Elvis Presley without his coat.’ I get it now… so apparently that coat made an impression… this is how we gonna sell them action figures… this is my brand now.”

That comparison to Elvis Presley helped Trick understand how important visual identity can be inside WWE, especially when building something recognizable that fans associate with a performer.

Presentation has always played a major role in WWE success, and Trick Williams now views the coat as more than just clothing — it’s a defining piece of his image moving forward.
