Kofi Kingston may be getting plenty of love inside AEW, but Trent Beretta just reminded everyone that he definitely wasn’t always part of the fan club. With Kofi now sharing a locker room with him again, Trent decided to dig up a brutal post from 2013 and put it right back in circulation.
Back when Beretta was released from WWE in January 2013, he apparently had one thing he had been waiting to get off his chest.
“Now that I’m fired I can finally say it: Kofi Kingston is an assh*le.”
That post basically disappeared into wrestling internet history for more than a decade as the two went their separate ways. Then Kofi showed up in AEW. Kingston and Austin Creed made their AEW debuts alongside Swerve Strickland at All In: London on August 30, 2026, and their first night could not have gone much bigger. The trio, now known as New Level, walked out of Wembley Stadium as the new AEW World Trios Champions.
That also meant Kofi and Trent were suddenly working for the same company again. So Trent went digging. Beretta resurfaced his old Kofi post this week and added one very familiar WWE line on top of it.
“then now forever brother”
That’s one hell of a way to welcome an old co-worker back into your locker room. Whether Trent is actually still carrying around a 13-year grudge or just having fun now that Kofi is in AEW is impossible to know from the post alone. Either way, he clearly remembered exactly what he said back in 2013 — and apparently saw no reason to let the internet forget it either.
Do you think Trent Beretta is still taking a real shot at Kofi Kingston, or is this just two veterans having fun with an ancient wrestling grudge? Drop your feedback in the comments and let us know what you think.
