Tony Khan held a media call on Thursday, May 14, 2026, to promote ROH Supercard of Honor.
Khan opened by saying he is excited for the show and pointed to ROH’s history of delivering strong pay-per-view events.
He also spoke about Athena’s role in ROH and AEW. Khan said both Athena and Bandido are set for the Owen Hart Cup tournament. However, he noted that both could enter the tournament as ROH champions or lose their titles at Supercard of Honor.
Khan praised Athena’s long run as ROH Women’s Champion and said ROH’s women’s division continues to produce some of the best wrestling in the company. Khan was also asked about Athena being part of the Survival of the Fittest match and whether she could lose the title without being pinned. He clarified that it is an elimination match, so Athena would have to be pinned to lose the championship.
Khan also revealed Persephone is out of the match due to injury. The winner of Hyan vs. Zayda Steel on tonight’s Supercard Showdown edition of ROH TV will take her spot.
Dave Meltzer asked Tony Khan about AEW’s relationship with Jazwares, which holds the AEW action figure licensing deal. Khan did not go into much detail, but his answer seemed to suggest there are issues without him directly saying it.
Meltzer also asked about the status of wrestlers in the Owen Hart Cup tournament. Khan said their matches are expected to take place in June, and the plan is still for the tournament finals to happen at Forbidden Door.
Khan also took a write-in question about Lacey Lane, formerly known as Kayden Carter. Khan praised her work, but kept his answer short.
Amy Nemmity asked about the women’s champions in ROH. Khan praised the champions and talked about their matches at Supercard of Honor.
Dominic DeAngelo praised Tony Khan for what he has done for Tanea “Rebel” Brooks. He also asked about Lio Rush’s recent character change and how Khan handles wrestlers coming to him with major creative changes.
Khan said he does not talk to every wrestler every day about things like haircuts. He explained that Rush cut his hair while traveling and came back with a new look. Khan said they had a good conversation about it, and Rush had a lot of ideas that he found interesting enough to try. Khan praised Rush as a great wrestler and said he still has a bright future because he is still young.
John Pollock asked Khan what metric he relies on most for AEW and ROH performance, especially with Nielsen changing its ratings formula multiple times. He also asked if MyAEW.com has given the company more useful data. Khan praised Nielsen in his answer.
Khan also answered a write-in question about ROH holding regular tapings at WJCT Studios in Jacksonville, Florida. Khan said it has been great having the crew together there. He also said it is convenient because the studio is across the street from Daily’s Place and his office.
Sully Khan asked about Blake Christian’s growth in recent months. Khan praised Christian and said he has been excellent. He also said he is a fan of Christian’s tag team with Lee Johnson and their alliance with Jay Lethal.
Khan closed the call by saying ROH Supercard of Honor would be an awesome event. He noted that ROH would stay in Salisbury, Maryland, for Collision on Saturday. Khan said he would take questions after Supercard of Honor and then do it again next week for AEW Double or Nothing.
