Tony Khan isn’t sweating AEW’s loaded roster—because according to him, even more top wrestlers are trying to get through the door. With names such as Ilja Dragunov, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods being connected to AEW speculation, Khan made it clear the company remains a destination for major talent.
While speaking with Metro, Khan was asked how he balances signing fresh talent with finding television time for an already stacked locker room. The AEW president started by arguing that his company already has many of the greatest wrestlers on the planet.
“There are so many great wrestlers around the world, and so many of the very best professional wrestlers compete in All Elite Wrestling.”
Khan then leaned hard into AEW’s “where the best wrestle” slogan, insisting it isn’t just a marketing line he throws around. That’s when Khan dropped the most interesting part. He claimed there are plenty of wrestlers outside AEW who are actively trying to land a spot with the company.
“I always say AEW is where the best wrestle, and I really believe that. I think that the very best wrestlers in the world are competing in AEW right now.”

Khan didn’t name names, but the timing makes the comment impossible to ignore. Ilja Dragunov has already been the subject of AEW speculation following the expiration of his WWE contract, while Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have also been thrown into the conversation.
AEW’s working relationships with CMLL and New Japan Pro Wrestling also give Khan another option. Wrestlers can appear for AEW without immediately becoming full-time roster members, allowing the company to bring in new faces without jamming everyone into the same locker room. Khan clearly believes AEW remains one of the hottest destinations in professional wrestling. Now the real question is which wrestler trying to get in will be the next one to actually walk through the door.
