Tony Khan is making a pretty big promise ahead of AEW Blood and Guts. Beyond all the violence inside the cage, the AEW President believes fans are getting something else from the company that its competition apparently can’t beat — affordable tickets.
Speaking to First Coast News while promoting Blood and Guts on November 4 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Khan was asked what fans should expect from the show. He started by breaking down the two-ring steel cage concept before calling Blood and Guts AEW’s biggest episode of Dynamite of the year.
Khan then turned his attention to the price of actually getting into the building. He claimed AEW currently offers the most affordable tickets in televised professional wrestling and promised fans that the Jacksonville show would be worth what they spend.
“Blood and Guts is a two-ring, double steel cage match with some of the greatest wrestlers in the world fighting it out, and the only way to win the match is to make your opponent submit or surrender. And it is just absolutely as advertised. You’re going to see some blood, and you’re going to see great wrestlers, great wrestling, and it’s going to be hard-hitting. It’s going to be exciting.
“Wednesday Night Dynamite has become one of the top shows on cable, and this is our biggest episode of the year. So it’s very fitting for our debut at VyStar that we’re bringing this episode on Wednesday, November 4.
“You can get your tickets now at AEWTIX.com. That’s AEWTIX.com, and I guarantee it’s going to be worth the value. AEW also has the most affordable tickets in TV wrestling. I guarantee you we’re not going to take an arm and a leg for this. This is going to be a good night at the wrestling matches, and I am very proud of what we’ve been able to do here.
“It was being associated with the Jaguars, being associated with the city of Jacksonville, that made it possible to launch AEW. It was right out here in January of 2019 that we told the world we’re launching a new wrestling promotion. We said it 600 feet from where you and I are standing right now, and it’s coming here to VyStar.
“You’ve got to be there for Blood and Guts, Wednesday, November 4. It’s going to be one of the greatest wrestling events ever in Jacksonville, I promise you.”
Jacksonville obviously means a lot to Khan and AEW considering the company’s history with the city, so he isn’t treating this like just another Dynamite. Between calling it AEW’s biggest Dynamite of the year and promising fans won’t have to pay “an arm and a leg” to attend, Khan clearly wants a packed house when Blood and Guts comes to VyStar.
