Tom Brady still hasn’t made it to WWE—but it doesn’t sound like he’s given up on the idea.

After reports claimed that WWE was interested in bringing the seven-time Super Bowl champion into the company, Brady has revealed he’s still waiting for the phone to ring—and it sounds like he’s ready to lace up the boots if the right opportunity comes along. Speaking with Cody Rhodes on What Do You Wanna Talk About?, Brady admitted he’s still hoping WWE President Nick Khan finds a storyline that gets him involved.

“I need to get an invite. I’ve been waiting for Nick Khan to come up with some storyline for me to get in the mix.”

Brady then made his pitch. Now retired from the NFL, he believes he still has enough left in the tank to step inside a WWE ring, especially after watching other athletes and celebrities make the jump.

“I’m retired from football. I have the opportunity to go out there and showcase that I’m still an athlete. My boy Gronk’s done it. I’ve seen Logan Paul do it. I think I could get in there for at least one match, right? Come on, Nick. Nick, make it happen!”

That’s when Cody Rhodes asked the question every wrestling fan was probably thinking. Would Tom Brady be a heel or a babyface? Without missing a beat, Brady already had his answer.

“I’m a bad guy. I’ve always been a bad guy.”

He laughed while explaining that his years of winning Super Bowls taught him something about being the villain. Whenever his teams went on the road, opposing fans wanted nothing more than to see him lose—and Brady admits he loved every second of it.

“I feel like when our teams did really well, we’d go on the road, and they don’t like you. It’s an incredible feeling when you work that day to send the crowd home early. It’s great when you’re at the visiting stadium, when there’s 70,000 fans against you, and you look at the stands and there are 20,000 people left.”

Brady was previously linked to WWE before WrestleMania 42, with reports stating that the company was negotiating with the NFL legend about appearing at the event. Those talks ultimately never resulted in a deal, and Brady didn’t appear during WrestleMania weekend.

Now, though, it sounds like the door is still wide open. Brady isn’t asking for a Hall of Fame ceremony or a celebrity cameo—he wants a storyline, a match, and judging by his own comments, he’d have no problem embracing the role of WWE’s newest heel if Nick Khan ever decides to make the call.
