WWE scrapped Tiffany Stratton’s original “Daddy’s Little Rich Girl” character because it couldn’t find the right person to play the father figure. Now, Stratton thinks she’s finally figured out who that person should’ve been—and it’s someone who’s helped create some of WWE’s biggest stars: Paul Heyman.
While appearing on the Battleground podcast, Stratton was asked who she would put beside herself if WWE ever decided to revisit the abandoned gimmick. She didn’t need long to think about it. After watching what Heyman has done for names like Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Bron Breakker, Stratton said she’d trust “The Wiseman” to elevate her own character as well.
“You know, I have seen what Paul Heyman has done for people, and I definitely feel like he’d be a wise man to have in my corner. I think Paul Heyman could take me to that next level, and obviously he’s helped make so many talents. I think he’d be the perfect character to fulfill that daddy role. I wouldn’t say I’d have to call him my rich daddy. It could be like that gimmick, but in a different way. It wouldn’t have to be like I’m this spoiled little daddy’s little rich girl. But I definitely think Heyman would fit that role perfectly.”
The answer is especially interesting because Stratton previously admitted the gimmick never got off the ground for one simple reason: WWE couldn’t figure out who that “daddy” was supposed to be. Shawn Michaels eventually pulled the plug, deciding there wasn’t a satisfying payoff, and the character quietly disappeared before it ever had a chance to develop.
Instead, WWE pivoted Stratton toward the glamorous Barbie-inspired persona that eventually carried her from NXT to SmackDown and into the Women’s Championship picture. Looking back now, though, Stratton clearly believes the original idea may not have been dead on arrival after all. In her mind, WWE was just missing the right co-star—and she thinks Paul Heyman would’ve been the perfect fit.
