Thunder Rosa isn’t hiding the fact that she’d like to be on AEW television a lot more. Rather than sitting around frustrated, though, the former AEW Women’s World Champion says she’s been making the most of opportunities elsewhere while waiting for her next chance.
Speaking with ZackAttack, Rosa was asked what it meant to be one of the first wrestlers working under the AEW-CMLL partnership. She said carrying that responsibility motivates her to keep pushing herself and continue making an impact in professional wrestling.
“Well, it’s a big responsibility because you have to… I feel like people like me, we just feel like we have to keep updoing ourselves and we have to keep doing more because of how much we have been able to accomplish and the difference that we have made in professional wrestling. Or at least that’s what I thought, or I think that I’ve been able to move the needle a little bit. And I just think it’s important to continue to do that.”
Rosa then admitted she’d like to be appearing on AEW television more often than she currently is. Instead of dwelling on it, though, she’s been putting her energy into wrestling for CMLL and continuing to build her career outside of AEW while those opportunities are available.
“Right now, I’m focusing a lot of doing that outside of the ring, right? Because I haven’t been as much on TV as I would like to, but I’ve been doing a lot of stuff in other companies like CMLL.”
Rosa stated she’s simply going to keep working, regardless of where those opportunities come from. Whether it’s inside the ring, representing her community or helping grow wrestling, Rosa says that’s where her focus remains.
“So, that’s important to me, too. So, I’m just going to keep working my butt off to be the best that I can. I’m going to keep working on being the best that I can be for my peers and for my community.”
Rosa has only wrestled twice on AEW television over the past several months, but her latest comments make it clear she’s not waiting around for things to change. Instead, she’s staying active in CMLL and making the most of every opportunity while hoping more AEW television time comes her way.
