Thekla’s Current AEW Return Status Amid Television Absence

Thekla has been nowhere to be found since losing the AEW Women’s World Championship, but that apparently isn’t going to last much longer.

During the AEW All In media call, Tony Khan was asked about Thekla and said fans should expect to see her back on television “very soon.” Khan also praised what she’s done in AEW, continuing the strong praise he has given her throughout her run with the company.

The interesting part is the timing. All In is this weekend, and Khan said he has specifically had an eight-match main card in mind for the show. That doesn’t mean AEW is completely done adding things, though. He noted that there are still opportunities for additional moments and segments on the pay-per-view.

Khan never actually said Thekla will be one of them, so there’s no confirmation that she’s showing up at Wembley. Even then, promising her return “very soon” just days before AEW’s biggest show certainly leaves the door open.

Thekla hasn’t been seen on AEW television since Redemption on July 26, where she lost the Women’s World Championship to Willow Nightingale. That match saw Skye Blue attempt to help Thekla retain by putting her foot on the rope after a Willow powerbomb. Thekla couldn’t take advantage, though. Willow avoided a stomp and caught her with a roll-up to take the title.

Since then, Thekla has simply disappeared. There hasn’t even been an indication that she’ll be involved at All In. Now there finally is some movement. Whether “very soon” means Wembley or sometime after All In remains to be seen, but Thekla apparently won’t be sitting on the sidelines for much longer.

Would you bring Thekla back at All In, or save her return for after Wembley? Let us know in the comments.
