Tony Khan opened the show by discussing his excitement for AEW All In weekend.
When asked about returning to Wembley Stadium next year, Khan praised the attendance and revealed that Sunday’s event is approaching a $6 million gate.
Khan was also asked about Jamie Hayter. He said he is a huge fan and noted that she competed at the original Full Gear in 2019. Khan said he is looking forward to Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor challenging Megan Bayne and Lena Kross for the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles on Sunday.
When asked about a longer UK tour, Khan said AEW has had great experiences there and sees opportunities to visit more cities. He added that he loves bringing AEW shows to the UK.
When asked about returning to Wembley Stadium next year, Tony Khan praised the support AEW has received but did not confirm a return. Khan said All In will be AEW’s largest pay-per-view ever on HBO Max. The four-hour show will begin at noon CT/1 PM ET and is expected to end by 4 PM CT/5 PM ET. Khan also said this is an interesting time for pro wrestling, with a positive media outlook for the industry’s top companies. He credited AEW’s rapid growth to the financial strength of its ownership and the company’s success.
Tony Khan announced that the AEW World Trios Championship match at All In will be a Trios Roulette Royale. Seven teams will compete until one trio, or members of that trio, remain. The match will feature Hangman Page and Brodido, The Bang Bang Gang, The Dogs, The Demand, Death Riders, The Conglomeration and a wildcard trio that Khan is working to bring in. The match will air during the All In Buy-In.
Tony Khan confirmed that Willow Nightingale suffered a broken hand, forcing AEW to make major changes to its plans for her on Dynamite. Khan praised AEW’s medical team for handling the situation and confirmed that Nightingale will still wrestle at All In.
Tony Khan said Thekla could appear in AEW very soon. He also noted that there are still opportunities to add more surprises and excitement to All In.
Tony Khan was asked why there is no Women’s Casino Gauntlet match at All In. He said he is still working through the show and believes there is still a great opportunity to feature several women at the event.
Tony Khan was asked if Britt Baker could return at AEW All In. He acknowledged that fans are eager to see her back but stopped short of confirming anything, telling them to “stay tuned.”
Tony Khan was asked how he prevents newly debuted talent from getting lost in the shuffle. He said injuries and other factors can affect plans as AEW tries to find the right balance.
Tony Khan was asked how long Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay had been planned as the AEW All In main event. Khan did not reveal an exact timeline, but praised Omega for playing a major role in AEW’s creation and launch. He also called Omega an amazing person and said he is having some of his best matches this year. Tony Khan said AEW may have pushed Kenny Omega too hard after he returned from diverticulitis last year. He said Omega has carefully managed his recovery and training, and AEW has worked with him to create the right schedule. Khan added that he has wanted Omega vs. Will Ospreay for the AEW World Championship for a long time.
When asked if MyAEW could become the home of the AEW and ROH libraries, Khan said anything added to the platform would require Warner Bros. Discovery’s approval. He also said Dynamite and Collision are up year over year and AEW is performing well on HBO Max.
Khan praised the Continental Cup but did not confirm whether it will return. He also said he is looking forward to the Continental Classic this winter.
Khan closed the call by saying the All In lineup is still coming together beyond the eight established matches. He is also working on a wildcard team for the Trios Roulette Royale.
Khan said Willow Nightingale’s broken hand was unfortunate and claimed he did not learn about it until the previous day. He expects All In to be one of AEW’s best shows and a major success for the company.
