WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase still checks out AEW, but don’t ask him to instantly name everyone on the roster.
While speaking on the Wrestleholics Podcast, DiBiase was asked which AEW wrestlers have caught his eye lately. The WWE Hall of Famer laughed it off and admitted that, at 72 years old, his short-term memory is not exactly doing him favors.
“Uh, gosh, you know, that’s—you know, again, when I watch it, I watch it, you know, and you’ve also got to understand I’m 72 years old, and one of the issues I have is short-term memory.”
The Million Dollar Man said that he can remember things from 30 years ago just fine, but sometimes he’ll watch AEW and think someone looks familiar without realizing he saw them on television the week before. That’s when his wife has to bring him back to reality.
“I can tell you what I did 30 years ago, and sometimes it’s like, you know—I’ll go watch AEW and whatever, and then you say, ‘Man, you know, that guy looks really familiar.’ You know, my wife will go, ‘Well, yeah, you saw him on TV last week, you know.’”
So, DiBiase isn’t burying AEW here. He’s just being honest — he still watches, but Father Time is making the roster a little harder to keep track of. Bottom line, Ted DiBiase can remember wrestling stories from decades ago, but some AEW faces from last week might need a reminder.
