The Borden family has another member officially stepping into AEW. While Steven Borden has already become a familiar face on television alongside Darby Allin, it was now Garrett Borden’s turn to make his first appearance for the company.
Before the September 19 edition of AEW Collision, Garrett made his AEW debut in a dark match against Kiran Grey. The son of Sting picked up the big win, giving him his first win under the AEW banner.
It’s another big step for Garrett, who has quietly been gaining experience over the past year. Back in May, he defeated Brandon Barretta at Rhodes Wrestling Academy’s Final Reckoning event, even paying tribute to his father by hitting a Stinger Splash before finishing the match with an Angle Slam into a neckbreaker. Since then, he’s been active in the indies and wrestling academies.
Of course, Garrett is no stranger to AEW fans. He appeared alongside Sting during his father’s retirement match at AEW Revolution 2024, portraying the classic Surfer Sting, while his brother Steven showed up as Wolfpac Sting.
Since then, Steven has gone on to become a regular part of the AEW roster, teaming with Darby Allin and establishing himself as a consistent presence after previously working DEFY, NJPW Academy and AEW dark matches.
Now Garrett has officially taken that first step as well. One dark match doesn’t guarantee a full-time roster spot, but getting his first AEW opportunity is still a notable milestone, especially with his brother already established in the company. Whether Garrett eventually follows Steven onto AEW television remains to be seen. For now, though, he’s officially made his debut—and started it the best way possible by picking up a win.
