Leave it to Sting to turn the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge into a wrestling promo.
The WWE Hall of Famer took to social media to accept the challenge, but before the ice water came crashing down, Sting couldn’t resist having a little fun with it.
“Isn’t it obvious? I’m trying to get a tan! Oh… Rebel Heart! Yes, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. It’s hot out here, so it’s good timing.”
Then, looking straight into the camera, Sting dedicated the moment to Rebel before delivering one more classic line.
“Rebel Heart, this is for you. I’m ready… FOR AN ICE BATH, BROTHER!”
A bucket of ice water immediately followed, but Sting barely flinched. Instead of breaking character, he stood there soaking wet and fired right back: “That’s all you got? OOOOOOOOH! WOOO! YES!”
Someone clearly took that as a challenge. A second bucket of ice water came crashing down seconds later, leaving Sting drenched once again before he finally moved on to the next part of the challenge. That’s when he called out the next group of nominees.
“Now it’s my turn to nominate Dustin Rhodes, Mick Foley, my two sons Garrett and Steven, Darby Allin, and Tony Khan!”
Sting is the latest wrestling name to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which has spread across the industry in support of Rebel and ALS awareness. Just days earlier, Britt Baker nominated Matt and Nick Jackson, with both Young Bucks completing the challenge while encouraging fans to donate and keep the campaign going.
With Sting now joining the movement—and calling out Tony Khan, Darby Allin, Dustin Rhodes, Mick Foley, and others—it’ll be interesting to see who answers the challenge next.
