WWE appears to have its opening segment lined up for tonight’s loaded SmackDown in Mexico City.
According to Viper Reports, the early rundown for the September 11, 2026 episode has Randy Orton scheduled to kick off the show from Arena CDMX. This is an early production rundown, so plans can always change before SmacDown goes live. As things currently stand, however, WWE is planning to put Orton front and center as soon as the broadcast begins.
The timing comes just days after Orton scored a controversial victory over Cody Rhodes at Sunday Night’s Main Event. Cody is also advertised for tonight’s SmackDown, giving WWE an obvious direction to continue that story if the two cross paths during the opening portion of the show.
SmackDown is already stacked as WWE continues its build toward Money in the Bank. CM Punk will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Sami Zayn, Chelsea Green puts the Interim WWE Women’s Championship on the line against Nia Jax, and Rey Fenix defends the AAA Cruiserweight Championship against Ricky Saints.
The War Raiders will also defend the AAA Tag Team Championship against Damian Priest and R-Truth, while Nikki Bella is scheduled to face Paige.
Again, this comes from the early rundown for tonight’s show, and WWE can make changes at any point before or even during the broadcast. For now, Randy Orton is penciled in to get SmackDown started in Mexico City.
