WWE is apparently kicking off Saturday Night’s Main Event with championship action right away.

According to Rope Break, the opening match for tonight’s show will see Penta defend the Intercontinental Championship against Ethan Page.

The match has been building ever since Ethan Page pinned Penta on RAW to earn a title opportunity, and now it looks like the two stars will be getting the first spotlight of the night at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Putting the Intercontinental Championship match in the opening slot immediately gives the show a strong start, especially with Penta continuing his run as one of WWE’s hardest-fighting champions and Ethan Page trying to score one of the biggest wins of his WWE career.

Tonight’s card also includes Logan Paul & Austin Theory defending the World Tag Team Championships against The Street Profits, Paige & Brie Bella defending the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Lash Legend & Nia Jax, Becky Lynch facing Sol Ruca in a non-title match, and a six-woman tag featuring Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss against Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab.

Confirmed lineup for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event:

  • Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) vs. Ethan Page
  • World Tag Team Championship: Logan Paul & Austin Theory (c) vs. The Street Profits
  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Paige & Brie Bella (c) vs. Lash Legend & Nia Jax
  • Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab
  • Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place tonight from Fort Wayne, Indiana beginning at 8 PM ET on Peacock in the United States.

WWE clearly is not easing fans into the show tonight, because Penta and Ethan Page are apparently getting the first chance to steal the spotlight before the rest of the card even gets started.
