WWE’s final SmackDown before WrestleMania is already shaping up to be a loaded show, and now a possible winner for one of the night’s biggest matches may have been revealed.

The April 17 episode of WWE SmackDown is set to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, just one night before WrestleMania. Among the featured matches is the annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, a long-running tradition that often gives rising stars a chance to stand out on a major stage.

Now, new backstage information suggests WWE may already have a frontrunner lined up to win the match. According to Bodyslam.net, internal discussions have pointed to one specific name being planned as the winner — at least as of last week.

“Sources indicate to Bodyslam that Royce Keys was the expected winner as of last week.”

While plans in WWE can always change, this kind of backstage direction often signals who the company is looking to elevate moving forward. The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal has historically been used to give momentum to emerging talent, and winning the match can serve as a stepping stone toward bigger opportunities.

Aside from the battle royal, SmackDown is also set to feature a major faction showdown. The Wyatt Sicks and the MFTs are scheduled to collide in an eight-man street fight, adding another chaotic element to the go-home show ahead of WrestleMania weekend.

With the show taking place in Las Vegas just hours before the biggest event of the year, WWE still has time to add more matches or surprise appearances to build even more excitement heading into WrestleMania.

Do you think Royce Keys would be the right choice to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, or should WWE give that spotlight to someone else? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
