AEW Redemption has a loaded card, but one match is getting the final word.
Fightful Select states that Kenny Omega’s AEW World Championship defense against Kevin Knight is scheduled to close tonight’s pay-per-view from the Bell Centre in Montreal.
“Kenny Omega vs. Kevin Knight is the scheduled main event for tonight.”
That puts the biggest spotlight of the night on Knight, who is walking into Montreal with the TNT Championship already around his waist and a shot at leaving with even more gold. Knight has made it clear that he wants to become a double champion, and he gave Omega a brutal preview on Dynamite by leaving the AEW World Champion bloodied before their showdown.
Omega now has to stop one of AEW’s fastest-rising stars from pulling off the biggest win of his career. If Knight gets it done, Redemption ends with AEW holding a brand-new double champion.
The main event reveal also means the rest of the card will have to fight for attention before Omega and Knight hit the ring. AEW Redemption includes Thekla defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against Willow Nightingale, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage facing PAC and Claudio Castagnoli, Kyle Fletcher battling Bandido, and Chris Jericho bringing back the Painmaker against Tommaso Ciampa.
Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley will also team against the Young Bucks, while Mark Davis defends the AEW National Championship against Andrade El Ídolo.
Still, the last image of the night belongs to Omega and Knight. AEW is betting on the World Championship match to send fans home talking, and Kevin Knight now has the biggest stage of his career to prove he belongs at the top.
