WWE has a stacked SmackDown lined up for August 21, and the company appears to be saving its biggest match of the night for last.

According to TRNBCKL Gold, the early rundown for tonight’s episode has CM Punk defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens in the main event. That means Punk vs. Owens is currently scheduled to be the final match on SmackDown from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

Owens earned his championship opportunity after returning at SummerSlam and winning a Fatal Four-Way match to become the number one contender. He will now get his chance to dethrone Punk and capture a world championship for the first time in nearly a decade.

The early rundown also has Sami Zayn scheduled to open the show, giving fans a better idea of how WWE plans to structure tonight’s broadcast from beginning to end. As always, this is an early rundown and WWE can change plans throughout the day or even during the live broadcast. The match order and timing are not guaranteed until they actually happen on television.

Elsewhere on the card, Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga will defend the WWE Tag Team Championships against Damian Priest and R-Truth, while Blake Monroe is scheduled to make her main roster in-ring debut against Giulia. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are also set to appear.

Unless WWE makes a late change, CM Punk and Kevin Owens will get the final match of the night, with the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line in the SmackDown main event.

What do you think about CM Punk vs. Kevin Owens closing SmackDown? Do you expect Punk to retain, or could Owens pull off the upset in Toronto? Let us know your thoughts and feedback.
