Solo Sikoa wasn’t supposed to be one of WWE’s hottest babyfaces. At least, that wasn’t the plan initially.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, a source within WWE creative noted that Solo’s current run was only meant to be temporary before creative eventually moved in another direction. Instead, the exact opposite seems to be happening. Thanks to the reactions he’s been getting over the last several weeks, there’s now backstage belief that WWE could be extending the run instead of ending it.
What’s making that even less surprising to people inside the company is that they apparently saw this coming long before the fans did. One creative source said Solo’s charisma has been obvious backstage for years, while another WWE talent called him one of the funniest people in the locker room and said it’s great to finally see that personality making its way onto television.
That’s a pretty big turnaround for someone whose entire WWE identity was built around saying almost nothing. Now, the character that was never supposed to stick around could end up sticking around because the audience simply isn’t ready to let it go.
Nothing has been finalized yet, but if Solo keeps getting the reactions he’s been getting lately, WWE may have no choice but to keep rolling with it.
Do you think WWE should lean all the way into Solo Sikoa’s babyface run, or was he better as The Bloodline’s silent destroyer? Let us know below.
