WWE Clash in Italy took place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. The event featured several major matches throughout the night, including multiple championship bouts. One of the biggest stories heading into the show centered around Becky Lynch defending the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Sol Ruca after weeks of chaos between the two stars.
The problems between Becky Lynch and Sol Ruca started during Ruca’s Raw contract signing on May 4. Lynch interrupted the segment and complained that the spotlight should have been on her instead. After some trash talk, Lynch tried to punch Ruca, but accidentally hit Adam Pearce instead before Ruca dropped her with a Sol Snatcher.
The rivalry continued over the next few weeks as Lynch mocked Ruca after a loss and kept interrupting her backstage segments. Eventually, the two agreed to a match at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIV, although Lynch refused to put the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line.
During the match, Ruca attempted another Sol Snatcher, but Lynch shoved referee Jessika Carr into her to intentionally cause a disqualification. Lynch attacked Ruca after the match, and later that night Nick Aldis announced that Becky would now defend the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Ruca at Clash in Italy.
This match went down as the second-to-last contest of the night. Fans were also very much behind The Man. Jessika Carr was rerferee in this match, who snatched the title out of Becky’s hands to raise the title above her head. Then Lynch got in Carr’s face before the bell even sounded.
Becky Lynch tried to get the jump on Sol Ruca, but that didn’t work out. Instead, Sol Ruca took control of the contest early on. They continued, and Becky Lynch eventually got the upper hand, as she nailed a leg drop from the top rope for a near fall. Sol Ruca started to rally after that. However, Lynch was able to counter a Sol Snatcher attempt with an armbar, but Ruca countered that with a crossface. Jessika Carr had to jump out of the ring to avoid contact, and she was late getting back in to count for a roll-up from Lynch. The Man wasn’t happy about the referee, and she got in her face about it.
After that, they made it to the top rope, and Sol Ruca nailed a massive X-Factor off the top rope for another near fall. Lynch nailed a superplex after that, but Sol reversed out of a follow-up DDT for a Superkick that sent them both to the mat. The match kept going, and Sol Ruca kicked out after a Manhandle Slam. Then, Sol nailed a Manhandle Slam for herself on Lynch. Sol Ruca was able to nail a Sol Snatcher out of nowhere after that and win the Women’s IC Title.
