WWE is loading up the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and the field just got a whole lot more crowded. Six more teams have now been thrown into the tournament, including former champions, some unexpected pairings and a pair of masked Americans looking to take home the Dusty Cup.
NXT announced the latest additions on September 19, revealing another chunk of the field before the tournament gets underway on Tuesday. The announcement also brings Fraxiom back into the Dusty Classic mix while giving teams like DarkState and Los Americanos a chance to make some serious noise.
The six newly announced teams are:
- BirthRight (Uriah Connors & Stacks)
- Mini Vikingo & Starboy Charlie
- Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom)
- DarkState (Cutler James & Osiris Griffin)
- Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno
- Los Americanos (Rayo Americano & Bravo Americano)
Those six aren’t walking into an empty tournament, either. The Creed Brothers, Julius Creed and Brutus Creed, were previously announced for the field, giving the RAW duo another shot at taking over NXT’s tag team tournament.
Two championship teams already have an easier road waiting for them. NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project, Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor, along with AAA Tag Team Champions The Wagner Brothers, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno, will receive byes in the tournament.
That means WWE still isn’t finished dropping names. More teams are scheduled to be revealed on Sunday, so there are still some open spots and plenty of room for WWE to pull another surprise before the brackets are locked in.
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will then get down to business during Tuesday’s episode of NXT. With NXT talent, established WWE teams and AAA representation all being thrown into the same tournament, this year’s Dusty Cup is already looking a lot less predictable than a standard NXT bracket.
