Shinsuke Nakamura’s mystery partner appears to be no mystery anymore.
After Nakamura teased a dangerous new ally following the August 14 episode of WWE SmackDown, PWInsider reports that former New Japan Pro Wrestling star Hiromu Takahashi is the man expected to team with him.
Nakamura had already put new WWE Tag Team Champions Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga on notice after the MFTs captured the titles on SmackDown. In an off-air promo, Nakamura described his mystery partner as experienced, vicious and deadly while warning the MFTs that trouble was coming.
“My partner is what you all pretend to be: experienced, vicious, deadly. He is chaos. He’s a ticking time bomb. Take cover.”
Now that description appears to point directly at Takahashi, according to PWInsider. If the pairing goes ahead, Nakamura and Takahashi would immediately give Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga a dangerous new threat just days after they won the WWE Tag Team Championship.
WWE has not officially announced Takahashi as Nakamura’s partner yet, but the identity behind the tease now appears to be out.
