Shinsuke Nakamura and KYOKI seemingly have a name for their new team, and WWE may have quietly given it away months ago. The mysterious “Bakusai” trademark filed back in June now appears to be connected to the two Japanese stars.

When WWE originally filed for Bakusai, there wasn’t much context for what the name would actually be used for. We reported at the time that it could potentially have something to do with Hiromu Takahashi, and his debut has now filled in the blanks.

Takahashi made his WWE debut during the August 21 edition of SmackDown, revealing himself as Nakamura’s mystery partner under the new name KYOKI. The reveal came after Nakamura warned the MFTs that he had someone experienced, vicious and deadly coming to back him up. KYOKI answered that call, immediately putting the two on the same side against Tama Tonga, Talla Tonga and the rest of the group.

With that pairing now established, Bakusai seemingly serves as the name WWE has lined up for Nakamura and KYOKI as a team. WWE hasn’t formally introduced them as Bakusai on television yet, so there’s still room for things to change. But a trademark filed before Takahashi’s debut suddenly has a pretty obvious place now that he’s standing beside Nakamura.

What do you make of Bakusai as the name for Shinsuke Nakamura and KYOKI? Let us know in the comments.
