Indie star Shazza McKenzie just revealed that her husband and stepson were involved in a serious car accident recently.
Taking to Twitter, McKenzie revealed that the crash happened while her husband was driving their 5-year-old son to summer school. According to McKenzie, another driver ran a red light and T-boned the vehicle, causing significant damage to the side of the car where the child was sitting. McKenzie said she arrived at the scene almost immediately and was met with a sight she will never forget.
“Yesterday morning on the way to summer school another driver ran a red light and t-boned the car my husband was driving with his 5 year old son in the back. I was able to get to the scene immediately and the image of my stepson trapped in the back seat covered in blood will be etched in my mind forever.”
She went on to explain that her stepson suffered several injuries, including broken bones, cuts, and bruises. While the physical injuries are significant, McKenzie said the young boy is also dealing with the emotional impact of the accident after being seated on the side of the car that absorbed most of the collision.
“The kid suffered a few broken bones, cuts and bruises but most of all is just scared and processing the whole situation as his side of the car took the brunt of the collision.”
Despite the severity of the crash, McKenzie expressed gratitude that the outcome was not even worse. She noted that both her husband and stepson survived the accident and are beginning what she described as a long recovery process.
“There’s a long road to recovery ahead of us but overall it could’ve been so much worse and I’m so thankful the two most important people in my life are still here today.”
Along with her statement, McKenzie shared a photo showing the aftermath of the crash. The image revealed extensive damage to the vehicle, underscoring just how serious the collision was. She also encouraged everyone to be careful on the road: “So please drive safe when you’re on the roads this weekend 🩷”
While the recovery process is just beginning, McKenzie’s update makes one thing clear: the situation could have ended far differently.
