Seth Rollins has already returned to the ring, but WWE fans are still waiting for him to show back up on television. After reports that creative already has plans in place for his comeback, Rollins has now addressed the situation himself—and it doesn’t sound like he’s in any rush.
Earlier this week, WrestleVotes reported that WWE is intentionally keeping Rollins off TV despite him being healthy enough to compete. The report also noted that his return had once been penciled in for Money in the Bank before those plans changed. Speaking with ESPN Chicago, Rollins didn’t reveal when fans can expect to see him back on Raw, but he admitted he’s simply taking his time after his loss to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.
“Uh, no, I wish I could, honestly. I’ve been off WWE television since SummerSlam. Had a title match with Roman Reigns in Minneapolis, lost that match, and yeah, I’m just taking my time right now, kind of focusing on other things. At the end of the day, I’ll come back when the time’s right.”
That doesn’t mean Rollins has been sitting at home. He pointed out that he recently joined WWE’s South American and Mexican live event tour, and said those crowds reminded him just how passionate wrestling fans can be when they don’t get to see WWE very often.
“I was able to go down to South America a couple weeks ago and do some non-televised events for the South American and Mexican fans down there and really fantastic crowds. Their passion for professional wrestling, what we do, is unparalleled, and they’re not spoiled like the American crowds. They don’t get shows very often.”
Rollins added that some of those cities hadn’t hosted WWE in years, making the experience even more meaningful. He hopes the response from fans caught the attention of company officials and leads to WWE returning to those markets more frequently.
“I think the last time we were in some of those towns was six, seven, eight years ago. It was very special to be down there, and those fans showed up and showed out. I hope that that was a sign to the higher-ups that we need to get back down there and do it a little bit more.”
As for his television future, Rollins wasn’t about to make any announcements. In fact, he admitted he has no idea when his next appearance on Monday Night Raw will be before joking that fans can find him talking football instead.
“But, as for me and Monday Night Raw, you know, I don’t know. The next time you can catch me, it’ll be on the NFL Network on Monday with my crew talking football.”
Rollins didn’t reveal anything about WWE’s creative plans, but his comments line up with recent reports that there’s no injury keeping him away. He’s healthy, he’s already back wrestling, and it sounds like everyone—including Rollins himself—is simply waiting for the right moment for his television return.
