Roman Reigns walked out of WrestleMania 42 Night Two as World Heavyweight Champion after surviving a brutal war with CM Punk that left both men battered and bloodied.

The main event inside Allegiant Stadium delivered the kind of fight fans expected, with Roman Reigns cashing in the title opportunity he earned by winning the 2026 Royal Rumble. Months of heated promos — including personal shots involving Roman’s family — built this match into one of the most intense showdowns on the WrestleMania card.

Once the bell rang, the match quickly turned into a physical battle.

Roman Reigns controlled early portions of the fight, sending CM Punk into the crowd and punishing him around ringside. Punk fought back multiple times, landing key strikes and nearly ending the match with several GTS attempts, but Roman kept finding ways to escape.

Things escalated when Punk busted Roman open during the fight, but Reigns returned the favor in brutal fashion. At one point, Punk was left covered in blood after Roman smashed him with the steel ring steps and later drove him through the announce table, turning the ringside area into chaos.

Both men traded near falls as the match wore on, with Punk landing multiple GTS attempts and Roman firing back with Superman Punches and spears. The momentum shifted back and forth, with neither man willing to stay down.

Late in the match, Punk nearly stole the victory after hitting a low blow followed by another GTS, but Roman still kicked out, keeping the championship dream alive.

The finish came after both men were clearly exhausted. Roman Reigns finally found an opening and delivered a spear that dropped Punk hard to the mat. Moments later, he connected with a second spear that sealed the outcome and secured the pinfall victory.

With that final spear, Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk to become the new World Heavyweight Champion, marking his return to the top of WWE after two years without holding a world title.

The victory capped off a violent and emotional main event that lived up to the hype, cementing Roman Reigns once again as the face of the championship picture moving forward.
