ROH is heading back to Philadelphia, and Tony Khan is going right back to the building that helped shape hardcore wrestling history.
ROH Death Before Dishonor 2026 will take place on Friday, August 21, from the 2300 Arena, better known to longtime fans as the former ECW Arena. This marks the second straight year that Ring of Honor will run the event from the famous Philadelphia venue.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on July 16, while the pre-sale starts on July 14. The show will stream on HonorClub, and international subscribers will also be able to watch through MyAEW.
Tony Khan made the announcement while speaking to The Philadelphia Inquirer, and he tied the decision directly to ROH’s long history in the city.
“There’s a great tradition of Ring of Honor wrestling in Philadelphia. It’s very fitting that one of the most important shows every year in the Ring of Honor calendar, the great Death Before Dishonor event, is coming to Philadelphia.”
Death Before Dishonor has been part of ROH since 2003, so this is not just another random show on the calendar. The 2025 event was also held at the 2300 Arena and featured Athena and Bandido defending their world titles against Mina Shirakawa and Hechicero. Khan said he was happy with how last year’s show turned out and pointed to Athena and Bandido’s title runs as a big part of ROH’s current identity.
“I really loved the Death Before Dishonor show we had there last year. It was tremendous. So much has happened in ROH in the past year. Bandido and Athena have maintained dominant reigns and have wrestled all over the world and have shown fans why they are two of the greatest champions in the sport.”
Khan also said ROH has several names breaking through right now, and he believes the company has been putting together strong wrestling shows heading into next month’s event.
“We’ve seen a number of great women and men emerging in ROH and I think the shows recently have been tremendous wrestling shows. So there’s a lot to be excited about in ROH as we approach Death Before Dishonor next month.”
Athena, Lio Rush, Red Velvet, Lee Moriarty, Zayda Steel, Dalton Castle, and The Outrunners are among the first names advertised for the show. No matches have been announced yet, so fans are still waiting to see how the card comes together.
ROH going back to the 2300 Arena makes sense on paper. The building has a ton of wrestling history, Philadelphia has always been a strong wrestling city, and Death Before Dishonor is one of ROH’s biggest yearly events. Now the pressure is on Khan and ROH to give the show a card that feels worthy of that setting.
