Road Dogg actually did it. After more than 11 years without an official match, the WWE Hall of Famer stepped back into the ring at Jeff Jarrett’s All-Star Super Slam on October 22 and officially ended his decade-plus wrestling drought.

My World with Jeff Jarrett took to Twitter and confirmed Road Dogg competed at the Hendersonville Pig Fest event while celebrating the show on Twitter the following day. Road Dogg teamed with Jarrett and Jay Lethal for the special anniversary match.

“Last night @RealJeffJarrett’s All-Star Super Slam was a SMASH HIT! 💥 Huge thanks to everyone who was part of such a special night at the Hendersonville Pig Fest!”

The match saw Road Dogg, Jarrett and Lethal take on QT Marshall, Elijah Drago and Brady Booker. It was part of a show celebrating Jarrett’s 40 years in professional wrestling, but Road Dogg’s return ended up giving fans another pretty big milestone to celebrate.

That’s because Road Dogg hadn’t officially wrestled since January 25, 2015. His previous match came at WWE Royal Rumble, where he teamed with Billy Gunn as the New Age Outlaws in a loss to The Ascension.

The comeback is even more surprising considering what Billy Gunn said about his longtime tag team partner earlier this year. While discussing the possibility of another New Age Outlaws reunion, Gunn made it sound like Road Dogg’s physical condition meant another match simply wasn’t happening.

The event itself featured plenty of other madness, including a Concession Stand Brawl, a Micro Madness Match, a Lucha Libre Showcase and the appropriately named Pigfest 10-Man Gauntlet Battle Boar-Yal. Still, Road Dogg wrestling again after more than a decade away was always going to be one of the night’s biggest surprises.

What started as an unexpected comeback announcement is now officially in the books. After 11 years spent working around the wrestling business without competing, Road Dogg finally reset the clock and proved he could still get back inside the ring one more time.
