Rich Swann just punched his ticket to one of the wildest matches on TNA’s Bound For Glory card. Swann defeated L.J. Cleary on the September 17 episode of TNA iMPACT, locking himself into the six-man Scramble for the vacant X Division Championship.
The qualifier gave Swann a direct path back into the title picture, and he didn’t waste it. Swann put Cleary away to officially claim another spot in the X Division Championship match scheduled for Bound For Glory on October 11. That means four names are now locked in. Swann joins K.C. Navarro, Fabian Aichner and Cedric Alexander, leaving just two mystery spots still waiting to be filled before the bell rings.
The X Division Championship is currently vacant, so there’s no champion sitting back waiting for a challenger here. Everybody in the Scramble is walking into Bound For Glory with the exact same target — leave with the belt.
The updated Bound For Glory card now includes:
- TNA World Championship: Nic Nemeth (c) vs. Leon Slater
- TNA X Division Championship — Six-Way Scramble: K.C. Navarro vs. Fabian Aichner vs. Cedric Alexander vs. Rich Swann vs. TBD vs. TBD
Swann getting into the match adds another former X Division Champion to a lineup that’s already loaded with different styles. With only two qualifying spots left, TNA is quickly running out of room before this thing is completely stacked.
Bound For Glory is still weeks away, but the X Division title picture is getting crowded fast. Swann handled his business against Cleary, and now he’s one win away at the pay-per-view from walking out with gold again.
