We reported earlier today that Ric Flair was placed in a medically induced coma and prepped for an apparent heart-related procedure. Flair had surgery and according to Dave Meltzer his condition is being described as “extremely serious.”

Dave Meltzer posted the following regarding Flair’s condition on his message board:

“He’s out of surgery. It’s good that he’s out of surgery. It’s still real bad. I had it just told to me in some detail, not exactly identical, but very similar to what happened to my dad. However, his kidneys are functioning which is the main difference and no cancer issues.”

Update: TMZ has confirmed Meltzer claims. They wrote:

“Flair is out of surgery and resting, a rep for WWE tells TMZ Sports.

Unclear how the surgery went but we’re told Ric’s family is by his side and they’re waiting to meet with doctors.”

Keep checking back for more updates as they become available…
