Ric Flair thought he was celebrating getting Wendy Barlow back, but fans immediately started roasting The Nature Boy over the way he announced their reunion.
Flair confirmed on August 9 that he and Barlow had reconciled following their latest breakup, posting a photo of the couple and declaring that it was only a matter of time before she came “”running back.” He also praised Barlow for taking better care of him than anyone else, before claiming she finally realized there is only one Ric Flair and joking about whether Wendy “still has little LEG!”
It took only minutes for Flair’s Instagram comments to turn into a firing squad. One fan wrote, “Someone please remove Ric from public life,” while another begged, “Put down the drink or someone please take his phone away while he drinks.” Another couldn’t believe Flair thought this was an appropriate way to welcome Wendy back, asking, “Who in their right mind would ever think this was appropriate.”
Others were simply confused by the entire thing. One reaction read, “Wtf even is this post?” while another fan interpreted Flair’s bragging about Wendy returning as, “He basically just told her I knew you’d fail.” Someone else called the announcement “a weird flex” before adding, “Dear God.”
The jokes kept coming. Flair and Barlow have been through the breakup-and-makeup cycle before. They first knew each other through WCW before becoming romantically involved years later and holding a wedding ceremony in 2018, although they later clarified they were never legally married. Flair announced a split in 2022 before they reconciled, and they separated again in September 2024.
Now Wendy is back, but Flair’s victory lap over her return quickly became the bigger story. Instead of fans simply congratulating the couple, the comments filled up with people wondering why Flair decided that telling the world Wendy came running back was the best way to celebrate their reconciliation.
